FAQ
Questions before tournament night?
Does Tourniva need an internet connection?
No. Tourniva works without an internet connection and transmits no tournament data. On Windows, the WebView2 system component can make its own connections; see Privacy.
Which tournament systems are included?
Swiss, single round-robin, double round-robin, knockout and groups + knockout.
How many participants can I run?
There is no participant cap tied to your purchase. Technical limits depend on the tournament system and are substantially higher than typical club or school events.
What happens after a crash?
Tourniva includes recovery after a crash. On Windows it additionally writes a backup file after every round.
Can I move a tournament to another device?
Tournaments can be exported and imported as JSON backup files.
Is there a trial version?
A separate trial version is not documented. The app includes an example tournament to try the workflow.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10 from version 1809 / Windows 11 and Android. There is no iPhone/iOS version.
Where are player contact details stored?
Names, email addresses, phone numbers and player IDs in the player archive are stored locally on the organiser's device and are not transmitted by Tourniva.
